Family Intervention:

Chemically dependent people are part of a family system, and their family members are adversely affected by addictive actions and behaviors.  Given this reality, doesn’t it make sense that a responsible intervention would support the family in addition to assisting the chemically dependent person?  As much as we'd like to believe it, it's not just "their” problem

The alcoholic/addict cannot sustain self-destructive behaviors without cooperation from those around them.  One of the more disconcerting dynamics of a family system where chemical dependency exists is that most everyone, at least initially, is just trying to help, they’re doing their best, and are well intended.  Frequently though, the best intentions can unknowingly keep the chemically dependent person trapped in their active addiction.

Since you’re at this site and seeking information about chemical dependency and how to help your family member, there's a high likelihood that by now you're pretty frustrated and frightened for you, your family and your loved one.

We are sorry that you have to deal with addiction and we’re glad you’re considering getting support.

There is a way out…
